  3. bed would be a good idea but im pulling a keith richards here. not that i have the consitution for it. its a rare thing for me, mild mannered type, but now im really pushing my luck, to be vague. thank you for your thoughts.

  4. Hey FINNYHADDOCK... after going round various people at the venue asking if they were SHACKNETTERS about half of whom said they were (but didn't post anymore go figure).. I gave up looking for you so the bloke you met was a fake Wingedeelfinger... what is the world coming to? So to the gig I asked the manahement how many were in and they said 89 which I reckon is a good hit for John given the usual absence of any promotion whatsoever... Also the crowd included a number of fit young(ie under 25) women who i interviewed for this thread and they were big SHACK fans and thought John was 'cute'!! Unfortunately they didn't want to cop off with sad 50 yearold like me even thougfh I pretended I was a former Shack roadie!!! The music well I would say that the development from the famed 'BRUMMIE MICK' gig in Moseley is fascinating with the extra instumentation I think we are beginning to hear John's vision which I would describe as a VanMORRISSON/BYRDS/LOVE hybrid a thing of great beauty when it all comes together... the Brass section were right on it and the rythm section particularly the drummer were excellent... What blew me away during the set was when the band reaaqly started to swing around half-way thru the set the sound the performance and the songs really came together... Only criticism is that John needs to sing (OR BE TURNED UP!!) louder and with better diction 1967 is a classic its a paen to Arthur Lee and the words which have taken me months to transcribe are brilliant but its almost impossible to make out the the verses live and I was standing 4' from him... WE REALLY DO NEED SOME SHACKNET BADGES OR BASEBALL CAPS(joke) SO WE ARE MORE RECOGNISABLE AT GIGS GUYS particularly down here in the smoke!!
  5. Any news on this one Clarky or should I chase BRUMMIEMICK?
  6. Clarky just to avoid confusing me are we talking about a soundboard of Manchester or Brum... Cheers pete
