  1. Bernard Fannings solo LP is meant to be great , it got good reviews over here. I haven't heard it though ! Kim , i'm afraid you're right about no-one else being excited , Powderfinger just don't seem to go down well over here . I myself think they are mingingly pish . What does that matter though , it's what YOU love that counts ! I mean , what do i know , sitting here loving the first Wedding Present LP , baby , i'm so unsquare.
  2. An alum which i used to love back in the day ... played it today- - yeah , still not bad. Why does this not surprise me? I think we probably have the same cd collections I love this album, was one of my favorites then and I still listen to it occasionally now. It's like a retro staple for me, a security blanket. Yes , i've got a good few albums like that . One that springs instantly to mind being the Los Lobos classic "Will The Wolf survive" , you into that Kim ? Yep, I always like that one too. Not love, but liked quite a bit. Did you ever get Brian Setzer's album "The Knife Feels Like Justice"? That's another one that comes to mind. Haven't heard that one at all , i'll look into it. I'm really enjoying the new Son Volt one , best thing Jays done for a while . That and the new Richmond Fontaine one , i saw them in Glasgow recently and they were superb ( and very friendly after the gig too).Willy Vlautins novel is well worth reading also .

  5. I really don't like the Springsteen comparisons. I can understand why they are making those comparisons, but at the same time I love the Arcade Fire and loathe Springsteen. What's up with that? You . You've got it arse for elbow. Nebraska is one of the all-time classics , Arcade Fire are the Emperors new clothes . They're good but nowhere near as good as people make out .
