Got home bout 8.00 o`clock after watchin Christian play footy, had me tea and by 8.40pm I was sittin reading shacknet, hadn`t thought really bout goin the bluecoat But thought well I did say to john I would go to the show last time I was talking to him and I didn’t,I woulda bin with the kids somewhere or Llangollen..anyways I though sod it an offski`d over there, parked in bold street an walked down an just about got there in time for john,it was an all seated affair, even for the band…quite the”unplugged”feel………john, stones,a drummer…and the usual crewe for double bass and wind instruments…(don’t know the names like)..as mentioned bit of a tricky start, john is still quite nervous in the awkward silences…but once the song starts he comes into his own,he`ll never be a showy frontman, which is fine, his vocals as mentioned previously over the years have got confident and stronger…it’s a mile away from his one or two vocals in say 2003…the songs are strong, and it’s a great mix, loaded man is reborn with an astral weeks type intro…metro,1967,carnival,the newies mentioned, too late for me now, carousel, new day, miles apart ,the introduction of drums to these was a revelation, just understated enough…as it weaved along…the bluecoat was an excellent venue and I meant to post a bit about the last time john woulda played there…its on a tape in the house, offa geoff…the night jayne casey was organisin the haircuts before the show(shack bluecoat chambers 29. 4.88 ) ….one day hopefully if geoff ever gives it the nod,it`ll be in the download section here(gary put it onto cd)……..all in all,it were a right success…everyone went away happy, and knew it was one not to be missed…I nearly did miss it like,I`m glad I bothered me arse…for as much as to meet up with the good folk, the lassie, graham, mags, mike,Sheila, finn, joe, mark, paul, skinny all the usual suspects…sorry didn`t meet you paxti, but I prob did see ya…especially if you were in the post office afterwards….walked up bold street bout 12.00 talkin to john, hopefully, one day…he`ll get what he deserved…..it must have bin a great night for him too…I`d missed about 2 shows since the Manchester one…this has come on leaps and bounds since………………..
  10. yep crackin report steve...have a great time in portugal............
  11. They're on about 8.30-9. It's Timo, John and Si. P.S. As I'm sure some of you already know, I'm Mick and John's sister Joanne, and It's my bar John's playing at tonight. it's hopefully gonna be the first, (or second including Paddy's night) of many acoustic nights here, to include John, Mick and many other local artists. Would be great to see the Shacknet peeps down there, have met a few along the way at various gigs, a good bunch! Jo x x Was it you that sang with Mick at the Liverpool music week thing at the Academy a couple of years ago? You did Daniella? What a voice you have, thanks for a great memory! Hope it goes well and the place is packed. And the Casa gig too. I believe I bored the arse off you for a while after that gig gary thats prime for a geoffin but i`m far too polite, welcome jo.........
