Just finished playing it Geoff. Brilliant and a lot of good memories of the early 70's. Whatalaodopish that re recorded version sounds. Nightmare.

Have you heard the Carol King song - its not off Tapestry though (I think) - called "No EasyWay Down?" - absolutely fantastic track...

I got covered by Dusty (Im Memphis) - which is another amazing album for me - and a whole load of other people...

I think the best version I heard was Mark Eitzels...suits his voice perfectly. Its on 60 Watt Silver Lining which is one of the most under-rated albums ever. Brilliant.

Mark Eitzel certainly seems to have lost the plot of late - but the first solo records he did - with 60 Watt the best in my opinion - being well up there with anything American Music Club did...

Time for an Eitzel revival in this house I think...!! Wheres those old lps...

No Easy Way Down was off 'Writer' the one before 'Tapestry'. I once heard a live version, so I'll be off tae Kazaa tae find it, efter Nick Drake which is on in two minutes.

I've tried to read a few of his. I started Cold Six Thousand a couple of weeks ago but gave up after about ten pages.

Loveshack, every time you write something like that I think of Mike Myers in "So I Married an Axe Murderer", one of the funnies things I ever saw him do. One of his characters is Scottish and his kid had a "Gargantuan Cranium" and he called him "Heid!!" all the time. Soooo funny. Since we're in Shrek mode, I believe that's the same accent he used.

If you like Mike Myers and his Scottish accent, don't you just LOVE Fat Bastard in the Austin Power movies ? He's wonderfully gross !

On Route to Runcorn - Minnie Riperton "Come Into My Garden"
On Route Home - France Gall "1968"

Not a bad game this LoveShack - but I cheated on the Minnie Riperton one because I originally picked a Davey Graham album out but just didn't feel in the mood.
