is there such a thing as a good Christmas album? Ive got a James brown one thats alright but i would nt mind something thats a bit more festive. There s eight of us for Christmas dinner, our lass is already on threat level 9 with the stress, her dads over from belfast with her 30 stone bossy sister, hen pecked husband and very very camp gay brother. None of them like music unless its on Simon cowels label and when Ive put stuff on in the past i get funny looks.... Now Im sick to fuckin death of Christmas tunes so could do with some help. Im thinking alternate Christmas music but not too alternative if you know what i mean. Richard Hawley type stuff to funky James brown style, anything. Any suggestions gratefully received and donations of copied cds even better! Cash is tighter than a tight thing on a very tight bastard day.....

There will be a Seekmagic Xmas Radio show going out 2 weeks today, 18th December. I am going to try to differ it from the previous xmas mixes I have done. It will be available to download from the blog after it airs on http://www.purple-Radio.co.uk. We also have our regular seekmagic sunday session going out live today at 2pm from the same link. It's Gavin's turn on the wheels of steel today. Make sure you tune in.

As for xmas albums, you can't really beat Phil Spector's 'A Gift To You'. Bloody brilliant. Also, Vince Guaraldi's 'A Charlie Brown Xmas' and She and Him have just released 'A Very She & Him Xmas'. All lovely in different ways. Also, Sufjan Stevens has released about fifteen albums of xmas music. Patchy to say the least.

You can't beat Sinatra's or Herb Alperts Christmas albums Danny.

But this is the best Christmas/Winter song of all.....
