100 or so crowded round the stage but all ambiance pretty much shattered by 30 or so fuckwits barking at each other over by the bar area. I like the Ruby Lounge normally but it wasn't a good setting to hear John last night, his songs are just too delicate - Academy 3 or Deaf institute next time please.
Utterly bizarre end to the gig, as jaques said - would love to know what that woman said (death threat maybe?!) - he couldn't get off stage fast enough.

What a relief when John finally came on. Previous entertainment was bloody crap. No disrespect, but, they really were. Johns setlist was as Wally has mentioned. With guest appearance from a loved up "Freddie Mercury". Butterfly, Miles Apart, Cornish Town, 1967 etc all lapped up by an appreciating audience (excluding the divvies at the bar, noisey cnuts). Rounded off me and my sons St Patricks night superbly. Loads of recording in the audience, just hope they upload their way to Shacknet. Look forward to the next gig

But really tho who thought playing a delicate acoustic gig at a bar in manchester on st patricks night was a good idea? Plug in the electric John and put some bollocks into the songs...

Same as at the Zanzibar a while back, gig partially spoiled by background noise. Maybe I'm a miserable arl arse but his gig being hijacked by selfish women pissed me off. First Zanzibar gig was a boss atmosphere, but other than that the Rosewald Suite was ideal. He's best playing somewhere like that without a support act.

I though she was part of the act.....
I enjoyed the gig, but having seen John solo a couple of times and the old elaccy band as well, I'd have to agree with the old addage that two Heads are better than one.

If that is you then fair play. John seemed to take it in good spirits, and isn't that what music is all about anyway? Bring people together. I'm not advocating full scale stage intrusions but they can't hurt now and again so more power to you. As a suggestion though, why don't you interrupt JLS next time and a glass a few of them; it would end their looks based career in one fell swoop. I'd quite happily pay you money to do that. . . can anybody think of other bands that we'd like to see the end of where sandripan can wreak havoc? If not JLS then how about Justing Beiber's next tour here? ;) Ahhhh, all this rambling must mean that the ale's kicking in

John will be playing at The Brink soon, supported by our very own seekmagic DJs and local songsmith Andy Cowan.
Just waiting on a date but it will be sooner rather than later. Will announce it on here first,as we're only putting 50 tickets on sale.
