Why don't a load of you get together and rent one of those 'serviced apartments' for the night? Yer could maybe even sneak a few in with sleeping bags and bobs yer uncle.

Loads of hotels nearby, the venue is smack in the middle of town.

There's some fucking grim ones too, Gardens Hotel & Sacha's to name two.

Let me know your budget and I'll recommend a couple mate

Want something within easy (safe) walking distance ideally and must have parking. Up to about £80 would be OK and not arsed about breakfast. Might be asking too much.....

I've stayed at Jury's, The Palace and the Travelodge on Blackfriars St. All ok and you can get usually get a deal on them. Jeff'll know some better ones.

Stretford Buccaneers are away that weekend so demand shouldn't be too bad.

The facebook Ruby Lounge are saying John will be playing Pale Fountains as well as solo songs. Anyone close to him know this to be certain or is it a marketing ploy? Soz no link B)

They describe him planning to play Shack and Pale Fountains hits.

Some especially imaginative use of the word "hit" there.

Any idea of running times of this gig? Last train home for me. Only been to Ruby Lounge once and i think it was an earlyish finish coz it turns into a club later.

Big day day. Quarter Final and then this.

John said he's hoping to get on by 10pm if it helps anyone.

Pete - we are conversing across several social media. It's like science fiction. Or Tomorrow's World at least

Top night again

John Kline and Julie, Jaques, Mike & Sheila, Mal Donaghy,MrDisposableRazor, me and Jo

John on good form, onstage just before 11

The setlist (which John could hardly read as he'd written it in pencil...)

Miles Apart
Savage Brew
The River
Carnival
Carousel
1967
Loaded Man
Butterfly
Cornish Town (stage invasion!)
Explosions (really like this one)

Good crowd, plenty there...if a little noisy as you'd expect on a Saturday night in the middle of Manchester

Couple of videos and pics to follow.....

I really enjoyed last night. I'd love to know what that lady whispered into John's ear at the end. All looked a bit Shakespearean.
